Flying Blind

A Canadian-Australian co-production between Legs On The Wall and The Belfry Theatre, Axis Theatre, and The Arts Club Theatre from Canada.

Flying Blind is based on the Greek concept of Kairos, which purports that at certain times we are given opportunities to change our predetermined fates.

Eight lonely characters some related, others single and each with a quirk, live in the same dilapidated home. One evening a chunk of the sky falls and lands in their backyard, creating a glowing hole. Secretly they each visit the hole and, compelled to take action, leap, climb or fall into it. What looms below is a magical, mysterious world where anything can happen.

As legs dangle and bodies somersault the entire theatre becomes part of this flight-filled experience. This wondrous adventure of love, death and holding on and letting go leaves audiences gasping in amusement, howling with laughter.

Premiered at The Belfry Theatre, Victoria BC in October 2001.

“Terrific fun with something for everyone - tenderness, crassness, beauty and mystery.” The Age, 2003
