Rigging 101

A workshop in basic rope rigging practice, theory and personal safety for professionals.

DAY ONE

The basics in choosing, using, care and maintenance of:

  • Robes

  • Harnesses

  • Hardware

The fundamentals of:

  • Rating Systems

  • Primary and secondary knots

  • Coiling rope and carrying rope

  • Understanding the physics

  • Anchoring

Practical in:

  • Friction knots

  • Vertical mobility

DAY TWO

  • Setting up an abseil

  • Abseiling basic (on the Red Box)

  • Self rescue from abseil

  • Basic risk management theory

  • Basic risk assessment practical

NOTES

You will receive a certificate of attendance. However, if you wish to come back and be tested, Roger will give you a certificate of attainment which he will count towards a greater certification in stunt and performance rigging from his company; Expert Safety.
