APPLY NOW

Once again, we are excited to open applications for our re-invigorated core engagement programs for 2026.

These programs are made possible by the ongoing support of Legs On The Wall by the NSW Government through Create NSW.

All Legs programs are equal opportunity and we encourage anyone with an interest in working closely with us to apply.

LEG ROOM

A performance development residency, for up to 5 days in the Red Box

Through Leg Room we offers artists space to provide opportunity to practice their craft and test ideas without the pressure of outcomes.

Successful applicants will have the support of the Legs team and our venue resources, as well as the option to share their work to a group of invited peers and industry professionals. Use of the venues and LOTW support are free of charge. Additionally, Legs can provide support letters to successful applicants to assist with securing funding for this activity or subsequent post-development plans.

Who should apply: Directors, Choreographers, Writers, Acrobats, Aerialists, Dancers, Actors, Designers, Musicians, Painters, Projectionists, and more.

Duration: Proposals are open for up to 5-day residencies, for activity between 9am - 5pm, to be scheduled in one of the following weeks:

12th - 16th of January 2026

19th - 23rd of January 2026

We encourage applications which don’t take up an entire five day period and may be able to accommodate additional residencies grouped together.

Please also get in touch with us if you have a great idea but can’t commit to our proposed dates. Priority applicants for this opportunity are independent and otherwise unfunded artists.

Applications close: 11:59pm Tuesday 18th November 2025

LEG UP

A year-round mentorship opportunity for emerging artists

Leg Up is our continued commitment to fostering and developing independent artists, prioritising recent graduates or practitioners in the early stages of their career. The focus and intent of Leg Up is an opportunity for professional development through the sharing of physical and theatrical know-how, with the potential for future work with Legs On The Wall. The program is made up of a small group of artists that have shown a vested interest in the company and a passion to develop their skills, and runs over a 12-month term through 2026.

Your engagement is self-driven and no specific time commitment is required. However, we want this to be of great benefit to participants based on a whole-hearted commitment to engagement throughout the year.

Previous Leg Uppers have gone on to great things, performing in major Legs works and taking up other professional opportunities.

This program is an unpaid mentorship, and key benefits include:

  • Free workshops and classes

  • Mentorship from the Artistic Director

  • Free Space when available

  • Understudy and secondment opportunities

  • Cross-promotion of individual projects

  • Networking opportunities

  • Show tickets

Applications close: 11:59pm Monday 1st December 2025
