UNBALANCED

UNBALANCED has been conceived as Legs On The Wall’s next intended work on an epic scale. In its final form a giant set of steel scales suspended from a crane acting as a mobile platform for a dynamic, aerial work with an ensemble of six performing to an original score.

This project will expand on the achievements and skills developed in the realisation THAW, which has to date been seen by over 65,000 live audiences in six nations (digital audience: 14,500+) and received an Impact Award from PAC Australia in 2024.

The idea for this original apparatus has been with me for a number of years, and its time has come. So many people I talk to feel like the world has shifted somehow and left them uncertain and this work speaks to that directly. To me there is something cyclical at work here, which can be deeply understood physically: when we are knocked off centre we scramble to get it back, but when stuck in stillness, the only thing to do is break free. — Joshua Thomson

Legs are currently seeking investment and commissioning partners to make this bold new work a reality.
